In a country where drowning is the #1 killer of infants and toddlers under the age of 4, parents cannot afford to choose a swimming lesson method that fails to
teach their child survival swimming skills. Using ISR's Self-Rescue™ swimming method, children as young as 6 months can learn to save themselves from
drowning. At ISR, we integrate skills that are developmentally appropriate for young children, teaching them to save their own lives while building the
confidence that can lead to a lifetime of fun in and around the water.
According to a study conducted by Johnson & Johnson, 56% of parents believe that their child is not at risk for an accidental, unsupervised fall into the water. It is important that parents understand the risks if they introduce their child to the water before they know how to save their lives in an unexpected water encounter.
Infant Swimming Resource is the ONLY provider of comprehensive swimming and water safety lessons for young children that offers a proven method to teach children Self-Rescue skills in a completely safe environment. ISR has invested more than 40 years in a child's ability to play safely in and around the water, while lessening the risk of drowning. ISR has safely delivered over 7 million lessons teaching ISR Self-Rescue skills to more than 200,000 infants and toddlers, and has educated parents and medical experts nationwide on water safety techniques and proven instruction methods. To date, ISR has almost 800 documented cases of children using ISR techniques to save themselves from drowning.
Why Infant Swimming Resource?
Infant Swimming Resource goes beyond traditional swimming instruction, by teaching children aquatic survival techniques designed to help them survive should they reach the water alone. For more than 40 years ISR’s proven Self-Rescue program has and continues to provide:
·Safety: ISR’s number one priority for your child.
Prior to beginning lessons, your child’s unique medical history is reviewed by a team of medical professionals to identify any potential health issues that may affect your child’s lessons and safety.
During lessons: ISR’s protocols have allowed for more than 7 million lessons to be safely delivered by certified Instructors.
Parent education: Your child is not the only one learning during lessons. ISR’s program includes comprehensive parent education on aquatic safety and drowning prevention.
·Results:
The protocols and ongoing education your Instructor receives ensures that your child, at the end of lessons, will be able to successfully demonstrate the age appropriate survival sequence, including a roll-back-to-float and/or a swim-float-swim.
Each ISR instructor safely and gently guides your child through the process of mastering his/her survival skills. These skills serve as a foundation for a lifetime of fun, safety and enjoyment in and around the water.
·History:
Our record of safety, unparalleled results, and qualified Instructor base are products of more than 40 years of proven research and development, and over 7 million safe and effective lessons.
·Qualified Instructors:
Your child will learn survival swimming skills from a well-trained and highly qualified Instructor using principles that have been researched, proven, and tested for more than 40 years. Each certified ISR instructor completes a rigorous in-water and academic training course and participates in a highly specialized annual recertification to maintain the highest level of safety and caliber of instruction.
·Quality Assurance:
ISR is committed to ensuring that every ISR student receives the most effective lesson experience. Pursuant to that commitment, throughout your child’s lessons, the ISR Quality Assurance Staff will maintain points of contact with you and your Instructor regarding your child’s performance and skill attainment.
The ISR Difference
Before you take your baby to the local pool for swim lessons, make sure you've given equal consideration to the critical importance of swimming and water safety techniques.
ISR is the safest swim instruction method nationwide, providing clinically researched instruction techniques to ensure that your child is learning Self-Rescue skills and the competence required to enjoy the water. ISR is the only medically-sound program proven to save lives.
No other swim class offers a proven system for safely teaching your child to enjoy the fun of swimming, while at the same time teaching life-saving skills that are proven to save lives.
ISR uses both verbal and non-verbal cues to teach children as young as 6 months. Even though your child might not communicate verbally yet, he or she can learn to Self-Rescue. Remember, your child may not talk, but he or she has learned to crawl, walk and run. That is the only skill they need to find themselves in water danger.
Unlike other swimming lessons, your child's Self-Rescue lessons:
·Are customized and taught one-on-one by a certified ISR instructor
·Last for 10 minutes, Monday through Friday for 4 to 6 weeks
·Emphasize health, ongoing program evaluations and parent education
·Provide your child with the competence and confidence to safely enjoy the water
·Extensive parent education on safety in and around the water
